Soccer and volleyball squads set for district tournaments

Soccer+and+volleyball+squads+set+for+district+tournaments

Both Lady Coyotes’ soccer and volleyball squads begin the Class AAA, District 14 tournaments today. The regular seasons saw them both finish in second place.

The Lady Coyotes soccer squad finished with a 3-1 district record. The lone blemish on the season came against Dickson County, a 4-3 overtime loss, back on Sept. 12.

In today”s  first round of the tournament, the Lady Coyotes will face Henry County. Earlier in the season, the Lady Coyotes defeated the Lady Patriots 9-0.

If they win that match, they will face the winner of Northwest and Dickson County. The team split matches with both teams earlier this season.

Senior Madison Bennett continues to lead the district in scoring with 36 goals in 14 matches. Junior Leilyn Mercado leads the district in assists with 12.

The Lady Coyotes’ volleyball team finished with a district record of 5-3. The Northwest Lady Vikings finished in first place with a perfect 8-0 district mark. The squad will face Dickson County, who finished in third place. If they win their match, they will face the winner of Northwest and Henry County for the championship.

Senior Shawnti’ Graham leads the team in kills, while senor Elysse Holloway leads in assists.
