The week of April 3-April 7 has been designated National Assistant Principal’s Week. To honor West Creek’s four assistant principals, The Coyote Caller is publishing Q&A’s with the administration team so that readers can get to know more about the person behind the job.
Today’s Q&A is with Dr. Frost, the 12th-grade administrator.
Question: How long have you been an administrator?
Answer: Since March of 2015 (8 years)
Q: What subject area/grades did you teach?
A: I have taught 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade math in Kentucky and Algebra I, Algebra 2, and AP Stats at the high school level in Tennessee. I also have taught remedial math at APSU @ Ft. Campbell at night and I am currently teaching graduate classes in educational leadership for them now.
Q: Where did/have you taught?
A: Christian County Middle, Northwest High School and APSU at Fort Campbell.
Q: Why did you choose to go into administration?
A: I found myself in more and more leadership roles as my teaching career progressed. I also enjoy helping other teachers improve their craft, so students can achieve more.
Q: What is your favorite lesson within a subject to teach?
A: Anything that deals with Algebra – writing equations, to graphing equations, factoring, to conic sections.
Q: What positives do you see in this generation of students?
A: They are very tech-savvy. The videos they can create, to the graphics on social media posts.
Q: What is a guilty pleasure for you?
A: Binge-watching shows on Netflix. Once I start a series, I have to see it through.
Q: Dog or cat person?
A: Dog person. (Although I used to be a cat person)
Q: If you were stranded on a deserted island with only one genre of music to listen to, what would it be?
A: Probably country
Q: What is one interesting thing that students might not know about you?
A: Both my husband and son both drive race cars on the weekend at Clarksville Speedway.
