Bucks County Man Pleads Guilty After Shooting at DoorDash Driver Over Late Cheesesteak Order

A Richlandtown man has pleaded guilty to multiple felony charges after authorities say he fired a gun at a DoorDash driver last year because he believed his food delivery had taken too long and arrived cold.

Keilan McKeever, 33, entered an open guilty plea on June 16 to two felony counts of aggravated assault along with related misdemeanor charges in a Bucks County courtroom. Prosecutors formally dropped an attempted murder charge against him as part of the proceeding, though McKeever still faces a potential maximum sentence of up to 30 years in state prison on the remaining felony counts.

Common Pleas Judge Stephen Corr accepted the plea Tuesday and scheduled sentencing for September. McKeever remains held in the Bucks County jail in lieu of $200,000 bail.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, the incident occurred shortly before 10 p.m. on March 22, 2025, when a 19-year-old Quakertown man delivering for DoorDash arrived at a home on the 100 block of Cherry Street in Richlandtown. Investigators say McKeever, upset over the delivery time, confronted the driver on his front porch while wearing a robe, yelling that his cheesesteak order had arrived late and cold.

The driver told police he returned to his car to check his next delivery assignment when he noticed McKeever standing behind the vehicle making an obscene gesture. As he began driving away, the driver said his rear window shattered and debris struck his head. He pulled over nearby and called 911, later telling troopers he felt metal fragments fall from his hair that resembled bullet jacket material.

When questioned, McKeever acknowledged arguing with the driver but claimed he heard what sounded like a vehicle backfiring after the driver honked his horn while leaving.

A subsequent search of McKeever’s home turned up three firearms, including a 9mm Luger, along with ammunition matching the fragments recovered at the scene, according to the criminal complaint.

The driver was not physically injured in the incident.
