Georgia Institute of Technology, also known as Georgia Tech, is located in Atlanta, Georgia. Although it was founded in October 1885, it didn’t open its doors to students until three years later. Currently, Georgia Tech has almost 48,000 in-person graduates and under-graduates.
Tech’s engineering and computing colleges are the largest and among the highest-ranked in the nation. If you are looking to pursue a career in an engineering or computing field, Georgia Tech might be the college for you. “Georgia Tech is certainly about academic focus in engineering,” a former student at Georgia Tech said.

“The campus has great food options on and off campus, but on-campus options can definitely be improved,” a current senior at Georgia Tech said. “Campus is safe and communities are interactive and fun.”
Georgia Tech is a prestigious school with many requirements; to be accepted there a high GPA and ACT score in the range 30-34 is required. Tech has an acceptance rate of 16%, and they accept the Common Application.
“The school has a fantastic reputation,” said a current freshman at the university, “and the degree you earn will come with lots of prestige.”
Georgia Tech offers many hands-on opportunities to prepare you for the real world. “Overall, definitely a great experience because the opportunities that you have here as a student are truly unparalleled and the school really gives you a competitive advantage in the real world / in your future career,” a current student said.
