Monday, April 15

In the final game of the regular season, the Lady Coyotes traveled to Montgomery Central with first place at stake. In a game that was close throughout, the Lady Indians emerged with a 13-6 victory. It was the Lady Coyote’s first loss of the season.

After falling behind 6-0 at the half, junior Kinleigh Lewis connected with sophomore Nicole Cushionberry for a long touchdown. The point after attempt failed, leaving the score tied at 6-6.

After a defensive back and forth, the Lady Indians finally punched it in with less than one minute remaining in the game. The Lady Coyotes could not capitalize on one last possession.

Wednesday, April 17

The Lady Coyotes finished their lightning-delayed game against Clarksville. At the end of regulation, the teams tied at 0. In resuming the overtime, the squad scored to win 6-0 and wrap up the regular season 6-1 and the second-seed in the playoffs.

Thursday, April 18

The first round of the playoffs saw Rossview’s Hawks visit. Their stay was short-lived as the Lady Coyotes scored early and often to win 32-0.

Senior Madison Bennett scored two touchdown runs, while junior Kinleigh Lewis ran for one and threw for two more. She connected with Nicole Cushionberry and Lyssandra Rodriguez.

The defense continued its dominance with its sixth shutout this season. Juniors Leilyn Mercado and Shana Moore, along with senior Dayonna Williams, led the squad in flag pulls. Senior Adison Aldana added an interception.
