The Lady Coyotes had just one contest this week, coming away with a 26-24 road victory over the Northeast Lady Eagles.
Paced by senior Talia Brandt’s three home runs, nine runs-batted-in and four runs, the squad jumped out to a 13-1 lead in the bottom of the third inning, only for the Lady Eagles to plate 15 runs to take a 16-13 lead. They added two more runs in the fourth inning to extend the lead to 18-13.
The Lady Coyotes exploded for six runs in the fifth inning, one run in the sixth and six more runs in the seventh inning to retake the lead. They had to hold off the home team in the bottom of the seventh when the Lady Eagles added five runs.
Besides Brandt’s performance, sophomore Paityn Swift and freshman Ariyana Lewis had four hits each, while seniors Alisha Audate and Aniya Sims added three each. Swift also added five stolen bases.
