The Coyote Caller is profiling the Class of 2025 Top 10 seniors. Today, meet Abigail Dixon, #7 in the Top 10.
Question: How did you feel when you learned you had earned a spot in the Top 10?
Answer: I honestly felt over the moon. It was like I finally acheived a goal that before the moment I found out, didn’t feel feasible.
Q: When did you first realize that you had a realistic opportunity to be in the Top 10?
A: It was around the time top ten had been announced for the Class of 2024, and all the seniors in my AP Lang class were talking about their GPAs.
Q: What has motivated you to succeed academically in high school?
A: I’ve always felt that I was never “good enough” academically, so what motivated me was the constant need to strive to do better.
Q: What class has been your most challenging during your high school career? Why has it been challenging?
A: My hardest class not only was my first AP class but also our teacher transferred midway through the year.
Q: Which teacher would you like to call out specifically for the way he/she inspired you?
A: Mr. Hoskins
Q: Why/how has this teacher inspired you?
A: The library has always been my safe place in high school, and Mr. Hoskins has always been a friendly face who truly made the library an escape from the stress of school.
Q: Where do you plan on attending college? Why did you choose this particular college?
A: Tuskegee University in Alabama. I chose it because of the rich history and fact that I can see myself there.
Q: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
A: In a pediatric psychiatry or child psychology residency preparing to become a doctor.
Q: Who else would you like to thank for your academic success?
A: Both of my parents whom of which are my number one supporters, especially my mama who has always pushed me to do better.
Q: What advice would you give to students who would like to emulate your success?
A: Always try your hardest. You don’t have to be the smartest or even the best; success is earned, not given.
